CD No 20. Conditional Purchasers. 1862 – 1864.

This data has been sourced from the Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales. It contains the details of over 9,000 applications for the conditional purchase of Crown Land between 1st January 1862 and 30th September 1864.

img022A conditional purchase (CP) may have had a number of owners before the final payment was made and all conditions satisfied as the name on the parish map is that of the person who made the final payment and that may or may not be the person you are researching. So if you do not know the parish or district of your ancestor you must search all the Conditional Purchase records at Kingswood. These records are not in alphabetical order but in order of the Conditional Purchase number. I have entered this data into a data base and sorted these records into alphabetical order of surname.

This CD is a useful research addition to your library or that of your local historical or genealogical society.

If you are only interested in the entries for one or more district / town or a ‘one name’ search contact me direct for obtaining the cost of a print out only.

  1. Hi Terry,

My ancestor, was a free selector. He called his selection Willala . According to a 1870 newpaper article, his selection was 20 miles from Boggabri either on or adjacent to Gullendaddy station. He bought a town lot in Boggabri in 1870. I have a copy of that purchase. What I would like to know is whether your CD No. 20 contains details of his Willala free selection? If it does then I would be interested in buying the details of his CP from you.

    Regards Greg
